Safety & Limitations
When Peeky might not alert you, and how to keep it working its best.
Peeky is an extra reminder. It doesn't replace you, and it can't guarantee an alert will arrive. At every stop, look back.
When Peeky might not alert you
- the battery is empty or the phone is off
- notifications, location or motion were turned off in Settings
- Low Power Mode is on, or Background App Refresh is off
- Silent or Focus mode, when the first alert is set to a regular notification instead of an alarm
- the phone isn't in the car, or someone else is driving
- "Temporary pause" is on
- an iOS update changed settings
- no signal or GPS, for example in an underground parking lot
To keep Peeky working its best
- Location set to "Always", notifications and Time Sensitive alerts on
- Turn off Low Power Mode when driving
- Set up a car connection: CarPlay or Bluetooth
- Keep the phone charged and with you in the car
- If the app's home screen shows a red card, fix it right away
Habits that work even without a phone
- Leave something you need in the back seat: a bag, wallet or phone
- Ask daycare or the nanny to call you if your child didn't arrive
- Look back at every stop, even when everything seems normal
- Lock the car when parked so children can't get in alone
See a child or animal alone in a car?
Call emergency services right away (in Israel: police 100, ambulance 101) and stay by the car until help arrives.
