Terms of Use
What Peeky does, what it doesn't, and who is responsible for what.
In short: Peeky is an extra reminder that helps you remember to check the back seat. It can't guarantee that an alert will arrive, it is not an emergency service, and you always remain responsible for everyone in your car.
1. Who we are
The Peeky app and the peekyalert.com website are operated by Kobi Krief ("we"). Contact: [email protected].
2. What Peeky does
Peeky tries to detect when a drive starts and when the car stops, using your phone's motion sensors, location, and its connection to the car (CarPlay or Bluetooth). When it detects a stop, it sends reminders to check the back seat. Peeky is an aid only.
3. You remain responsible
Peeky does not replace supervision, attention, or checking the back seat at every stop. Responsibility for children, animals and anyone in your care in the car is yours alone, at all times, including while Peeky is running. Never leave a child or an animal alone in a car, not even for a short time.
4. Peeky is not an emergency service
Peeky does not call the police, an ambulance or any emergency service, and no one monitors alerts from a control center. In an emergency, call your local emergency number right away (in Israel: 100 police, 101 ambulance).
5. Technical limitations
Peeky runs on a phone we don't control. Alerts may not arrive, may arrive late, or may arrive without reason, including when:
- the battery is empty, the phone is off, or it has no signal or GPS
- notification, location or motion permissions were turned off or limited
- Low Power Mode, Silent mode, a Focus mode, or Background App Refresh is off
- the phone isn't in the car, or someone else is driving
- an iOS update changed how the phone behaves
- "Temporary pause" is on in the app, or the app was deleted
- CarPlay, Bluetooth, Apple Shortcuts or Apple services malfunction
We do not promise that the service will run without interruption or errors.
6. Backup contact
Alerts to your backup contact are not active yet and will be turned on in a future update. Until then, no one is notified if you don't confirm an alert. Once active, delivery will depend on your contact having Peeky installed, their phone being on and connected, and their settings allowing notifications. There is no guarantee the message will arrive, or arrive on time. Make sure your contact agrees to receive these messages.
7. Your use
- You must be 18 or older and use Peeky on your own phone.
- Don't use your phone while driving in violation of the law. Peeky doesn't require touching the phone while driving.
- Don't use Peeky for anything unlawful, or to track another person.
8. Price
Peeky is free for now. If that changes, we will tell you in advance, and you will never be charged without your consent.
9. Intellectual property
The Peeky name, logo, design and code belong to the app's operator. You may use the app for personal use only.
10. Limitation of liability
Peeky is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our liability for financial loss or property damage is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, or ₪100, whichever is higher.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for bodily injury caused by our negligence or for willful misconduct.
11. Privacy
How Peeky protects your information is explained in the Privacy Policy.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. A material change will be shown in the app before you continue using it.
13. Stopping use
You can stop using Peeky at any time by deleting the app.
14. Apple
These terms are between you and the app's operator, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app, its support, or claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Israel, and the competent courts in Israel have jurisdiction.
